Bombus ternarius, commonly known as the orange-belted bumblebee or tricoloured bumblebee, is a yellow, orange and black bumblebee. It is a ground-nesting social insect whose colony cycle lasts only one season.

These utterflies are insects in the macrolepidopteran clade Rhopalocera from the order Lepidoptera, which also includes moths. The adult butterflies have large, often brightly coloured wings, and conspicuous, fluttering flight.
